How To Clean Suede and Nubuck With Saphir Products

Suede and nubuck have special needs when it comes to cleaning, beautifying and protection. Valentino Garemi carries several high quality products within the Saphir line that clean and maintain these soft, textured leathers. Using these shoe care tools and formulations will extend the life of your napped leathers and keep them fitting comfortably and looking handsome.
Remove Dirt
The Saphir Crepe Wood Brush is extremely easy to use and treats textured leather gently while removing dirt effectively. A hardwood handle fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, embedded with ribbons of crepe rubber in a tight serpentine pattern. Using short strokes this brush will remove loose dirt and will also absorb some staining from the open pored leather. After use the crepe ribbons can be rinsed and the entire brush dried for its next use.
Spot Cleaning
A simple concept that works beautifully to absorb grease or other staining is exemplified by the Saphir’s Super Gommadin Medaille d'Or. This block of white rubber works exactly like a school eraser to remove stains and ground in dirt. Just like a pencil eraser the edge of the Gommadin crumbles as it is rubbed across an unwanted patch of soiling, absorbing the dirt or oil and allowing it to be brushed away with the rubbery bits.
Extra Help For Severe Stains
Omnidaim Nubuck Suede and Textile Cleaner from Saphir is a unique and useful product that helps dissolve stubborn dirt and grease spots that mar your fine nubuck or suede leather. Apply the clear liquid to the affected areas with a soft cloth and allow to penetrate up to a few hours. The included brush helps work in the cleaner and work out the dirt and grease. Napped leathers treated with this targeted cleaner are cleaned and their colour restored.
After the cleaner has dried the Saphir Crepe Brush can be used on both suede and nubuck, to maintain and improve the look of the texture on the shoe, boot or other leather product by raising the nap. Gently rub over shiny areas and see the compressed leather fibers release back into a fluffier look.
